In-app tournaments have been upgraded!

We've had tournaments in the Star Realms app for many years, and we thought it was time to make some improvements!

We started by overhauling the visual style. The layout of the tournament screen should be very familiar, but the graphics have been improved.

The biggest changes, though, were to the underlying tournament engine.

We now have a checkin system, where every registered player will have to check in during the first few minutes after the tournament starts. If you don't check in, you will be dropped from the tournament before the pairings happen for the first round. We're hoping this will reduce the number of early timeouts by players who don't show up to play.

We've also added an in-app chat feature, so that you can communicate with your fellow players between rounds. (Please note that every chat message is logged!)

Finally, this new tournament system should allow us to run tournaments (like our Legends series) with even more players. We've also heard about the problems that players have had with tournament notifications, and the system update should improve that situation as well.
